During May the UQAFC was represented at the UQ Sport Club Awards function by Peter Herring, Professor and Mrs Ross and Bing Barnard, Daniel Keen and Jarrod Jolliffe. The club was recognised for its outstanding year in 2011 on and off the field through the club’s nomination for the prestigious Hulbert Bursary, effectively UQ Sport’s Club of the Year Award.
While the UQAFC had strong claims following its rise from the mud of the January floods to minor premierships, the award was won by the UQ Cricket Club following its incredible 2011 season. In its Centenary Year, the UQCC won 3 grade premierships of 4 contested, managed to field 19 teams including a booming junior club and saw their First Grade team remain undefeated in all forms of cricket throughout the season. Congratulations to the UQCC on winning the award.

Robbed…but congrats to the cricket club. I am sure that we will have a great chance next year of winning this award.
