A few words on some Life Members that I can remember! All Life members were stalwarts of the club , assisting pre games with the setting up the tent ( to sell grog when we had no clubhouse ) . When I joined the club in 1973 , the club was an amateur club playing in a partly Professional competition . the club had a great social life , however emphasis was on playing hard , training hard ( if possible ) and drinking / socialising hard ! All members put in 100% for the club on the field , most achieving Best & Fairest award some year(s) and Loved their Footy!!
Keith commenced years before me and was probably the only player who did play all his 200+ games in the A grade . Keith was Captain of the A grade , Best & Fairest at least once maybe twice , and a true clubman . Most Life members went the extra distance to perform for the club on and off the field . I would personally rate Keith as one of the best A grade players to play for UQAFC . He was consistent and strong , started his career at Full Forward and went all the way down the centre line to play permanently at Full Back , in the A grade , which is a great achievement in itself.
As Full Back , Keith would tell all , or anyone who would listen ( new players ) about his Famous Goal he kicked ! Ask him and he will tell you !
