After a fantastic debut season the UQAFC Ladies are eager to get back into their footy. Although training for season 2014 will not officially start until early in the new year there are plenty of things you can be doing to help us out!
With this year being such an enjoyable year a large number of the girls have already committed to a second season. We’d still love to have a few more sign up though! If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at AFL, or just want to come down and try a new sport while meeting a bunch of new friends the Red Lions would love to hear from you. Shoot us an email at email@example.com to register your interest and be kept up to date with all the latest news for season 2014. Feel free to tell your friends about it all too!
The UQAFC is hosting a Scholarships and Season 2014 Information Session at 6pm on Monday 21 October at the UQ Athletics Meeting Centre (next to the track). At this session you can meet the playing group, committee and coaches for 2014 as well as find out about all the latest developments for the UQAFC, plans for season and pre-season 2014, and details about the UQ Sports Achievement Scholarships valued at $7,500.
If you’re looking to keep up or build up your fitness before official training starts we’d encourage you to get along to the optional weekly Freers sessions run by club vice-president and his wife, Peter & Michelle Rosengren. The sessions are currently held at 6:30pm on Monday and Wednesday nights at Freers Factory, 105 Sir Samuel Griffith Drive, Bardon. Though they’re a tough workout it’s a great way to get to meet a few people from around the club and get into shape!
