Pete Rosengren AFLQ Club Administrator of the Year

A huge congratulations to Peter “Rosie” Rosengren, who was earlier this week crowned AFL Queensland’s Club Administrator of the Year for 2014.

Selected from all of the clubs throughout South-East Queensland, Rosie was presented with his award at the Queensland Football Awards on Monday night at the Gabba.

Pete works tirelessly to ensure that the Red Lions, Queensland’s largest senior football club with 8 sides, runs smoothly each week.

As UQAFC vice-president Rosie handles a lot of the operations side of club administration. He consistently liaises with AFL Queensland and UQ Sport to arrange for all of the little things that need to happen each week to allow us to head out on to the park.

He coaches and manages all aspects of the QAFA(A) Reserves side, a team which will this weekend be gunning for it’s third successive premiership when it takes on Carrara 11:30am Saturday at Giffin Park, Coorparoo.

His renowned Freers sessions are the stuff of legends. They are simultaneously hated and loved by all of his followers who head along every Wednesday night for a gut-busting core workout.

You will not find a better bloke than Rosie – he is truly loved by every member of the UQAFC. To go along with that he is thoroughly respected and well-liked by opposition clubs who admire his tireless work-ethic and friendly attitude.

Congratulations Rosie, this is well deserved recognition for all of the hard-work that you put into making the Red Lions such a great place to be!
