Congratulations to UQ QWAFL player Alanna Perry on her recent selection in the Queensland Youth Girls Under 18 Squad.
After picking up All Australian Under 16 honours in 2014 and then being in selected in the 2015 Queensland Youth Girls team, Alanna suffered a serious ankle injury just before last year’s National Carnival which ruled her out of the trip to Perth. She is now fit and firing and will be ready for a big carnival when the girls travel to Melbourne in early May as she continues putting her name forward as a player to watch for the upcoming Women’s National League.
Alanna joins the Red Lionesses in 2016 from local junior clubs the Ipswich Cats and the Jindalee Jaguars. While State duties will see her miss the first few rounds of the QWAFL season, she has already looked at ease competing with her more experienced teammates and will no doubt have an immediate impact in her first year at senior level.
The whole club congratulates Alanna on her State selection and wishes her all the best for the carnival!
