Red’s Round-Up: 30 July 2015

Hello from the UQAFC Red Lions,

Fresh from a rest last week the QAFL unit are back at home this Sunday for one of the club’s biggest games for the 2015 season on Old Boys Day. After the Colts were handed their 4 points early in the week by the Coorparoo default, the Seniors enjoyed a bye in preparation for the triple header against the Sandgate Hawks this Sunday August 2. In contrast, the QAFA B lads met a solid Jimboomba outfit to finish 5 goals behind at the close. Their game against Yeronga on Friday night at 7pm is another home game for the QAFA Red Lions at Moorooka.

The QWAFL Ladies put in a fine showing at Yeronga last week and despite the final margin were well in the game, showing the dramatic improvement in skills, intensity and awareness that has become the hallmark of their 2015 season. They take on the Griffith Uni-Moorooka Chooks at Oval 7 Saturday at 12 pm in a mouth watering mortar board matchup.

Old Boys Day is looming large this Sunday August 2nd with Old Boys encouraged to lunch at the Norman Hotel followed by a trip to Oval 7 for the home game vs Sandgate. This year we will celebrate Ross Stuart’s magic milestone of 250 games with every old boy joining us going in the draw to win a round of golf at Sanctuary Cove for you and 3 buddies. Please support our major sponsor by booking a table with your mates, come and have a beer with Rossy and then head out to the game in the free Norman Bus.

Thanks for all your support and we look forward to seeing you at the footy!

All the best,

Peter Herring
