A massive congratulations to Red Lioness recruit Jordan Smyth on her selection into the Queensland Youth Girls team for 2015!
Jordy’s selection is even more amazing when you consider that she has only played a handful of AFL games after converting over from futsal last year.
The squad of 27 was picked from a squad of 60 after a Tallebudgera training camp last weekend and will compete in the 2015 AFL Youth Girls Championship in Mandurah, Western Australia, in May.
Check out the full story on the AFLQ website now.
Congratulations also to Claudia Wharton and Darcey Campbell on being involved in the initial squad who just missed out on final selection. All three girls join the UQAFC in 2015 after recently commencing studies at the University and will become key members of the young Red Lioness squad.
Best of luck to Jordy as she prepares for the championships, we’ll all be watching with interest!
