Great news for our women’s footy players with nine girls named in the Brisbane Lions and Gold Coast Suns squads to play at the Gabba on 16 April.
The women’s exhibition match will take place straight after the men’s Q-Clash with the girls keen to put their best foot forward and claim a spot in the upcoming National Women’s League. It is expected that the Brisbane Lions will receive the Queensland license for the league.
Congratulations and best of luck to Annie Shewring, Sharni Webb, Dania Herdman, Emma Zielke, Emma Pericic & Jess Wiggan (Brisbane Lions), Megan Hunt, Bre Koenen & Naomi Fitzpatrick (Gold Coast Suns). Zilks will also have the honour of captaining the home side.
