UQAFC Red Lions Play for Australia

Two of the UQAFC Red Lions young guns, Connor Ballenden and Jack Clayton played for the NAB AFL Academy U17 Australian team on Sunday April 24th against the New Zealand Hawks in Auckland.

As part of the elite NAB AFL Academy and potential draftees for 2017, the game is an opportunity for the lads to perform in front of recruiters from nearly all the AFL clubs who made the trip to run their eyes over next year’s talent. Both Connor and Jack have been long term members of the Lions Academy here in Brisbane with this match in Auckland part of a 5 day camp for the squad under coach Brenton Sanderson (Adelaide Crows Snr Coach 2011-2014). Our local scouts on the ground in Auckland report both lads played well in the outing, Connor being no stranger to NZ! Congratulations to both.
